adjusting throttle on polaris predator 500 PLEASE HELP!!!?

hello i have a 2003 polaris predator 500 and after riding it hard last weekend when i press on the throttle it will have a little backfire...
i talked to a guy at barrys mototsports and he said that i should have the throttle where i have at tha max 1/8 of a inch of play.
how do i adjust that because right now i have about 1/2 to 3/4 of a inch play.
im wanting to take it out again this weekend please tell me where/how to adjust it

Look along the throttle cable.
There will be an adjustment at either the throttle body (where the cable goes into the "twist grip" unit), where it goes into the carburetor, or somewhere about in the middle or so of the cable itself.
