'07 Yamaha Phazer Octane Gas?
I've been looking at Yamaha Phazers (07 and newer) and Yamaha says that it runs on Premium Unleaded. Are there any dangers in running regular 87 octane pump-gas as long as it seems to be running happy? Do you know of anyone who runs regular 87 octane in a 07 and newer Yamaha Phazer (4 stroke 500 twin)

This engine has a knock sensor, so yes you can run 87 octane without damaging the motor. But you will have a slight decrease in performance running 87 so why not spend the extra $1.50 per tank and top it up with 97 octane?
