Here are some more information for Plastic Snowmobile:

Who invented the dart board? I guess we will never know, it was probably some archer in the middle ages who converted the bottom of a barrel or tree slice into the first dart board and threw his arrows at it. Dart boards were made of wood for many years mostly from elm and had to be soaked in water overnight to stop the board from splitting. However we do know who invented the first Bristle board, that was Nodor in the 1930's, they were approached by an inventor who had an idea to make a dart board from rope! It must have sounded crazy at the time, but it worked. They took some rope strands all the same length and compressed them tightly together and hey presto the first "Bristle" board was born. This was a huge advance on the traditional wooden board. For a start no more soaking and the board was self healing and long lived. It was an instant success.
Nodor got a patent for the design and so were the only manufacturer for 25 years or so for the life of the patent. After the patent expired other manufacturers entered the arena most notably Winmau . And you thought Nodor was a funny name. Apparently the name Winmau was made up from the first three letters of the two names of the wife of the company director "Winifred Maud" hence Winmau.
Nodor and Winmau then slugged it out for dominance in the dart board market with one company trying to take over the other for many years. During this time Winmau came up with their famous Blade board with ultra thin wire separators and Nodor came up with the first staple free bulls eye dart board.
The bristle boards were used in all the big tournaments that started in the 70's and are still used today in the prestigious tournaments like the Las Vegas classic and the British Lakeside tournament.
Then came Electronics, the electronic dart board came on the scene and changed the game overnight. The odd thing about electronic boards is they are covered in hundreds of small holes for the special soft tip darts to enter. At first glance you think how can the dart get into those holes so exactly? The holes are centered at the base of a dimple like the dimples of a golf ball, guiding the soft tip darts to the holes in the board. And it works very well with nowhere near the amount of bounce outs you might expect. There are sensors beneath the holes which trigger the electronics to record the score and deducts or adds the score to the previous one automatically, depending on the game. This was a great boon to darters as they no longer had to keep score and the boards could be networked to collect all the scores from the boards on a computer, great for tournaments.
The difference with the electronic dart board are that you have to use soft tip darts, and the tips are made of plastic so as not to damage the board. (Never use normal steel tip darts on an electronic board) Also the maximum weight of dart allowed on most electronic dart boards is 20 grams.
You can now have the best of both the steel tip and soft tip game now with the introduction of the new BristleTech boards which have bristle type fibres that can take the steel tips as well as the soft tipped darts and still work with the electronics. This could very well be the technology that will dominate the dart world from now on.
So there you have it, we have come a long way from the elm wooden dart boards and I'm sure there will be even more developments to come, especially with the combination Bristle type boards and electronics. Electronic darts is very popular on both sides of the Atlantic now and maybe even the professional game will embrace it before long.

Ice Fishing In Lake Simcoe - How To Make A Great Catch
Lake Simcoe, the 4th largest lake in the province is located right down in the southern region of the Ontario, Canadian province; with huge water area of over 725 square km. Lake Simcoe ice fishing is one of the best in that area which has opportunities for individuals of ever level of age and experience. This lake is ninety miles away from Toronto and it is an easy drive. There are many winter lodges, accommodations and hotels in and around the lake. Since this ice fishing is popular hobby in winter, this lake is home to other winter sports like snowmobile riding and racing, winter hiking, camping, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, etc. Many other local games are also played.
Ice fishing in Lake Simcoe includes pike, whitefish, trout, walleye and ling. The various varieties of fish in this lake are identified with ease by their distinguished features. The following strategies and tips will help and assist those who are keenly interested in ice fishing in Lake Simcoe.
Pike – An aggressive fish is the northern pike. They have a special feature which makes them unmistakable, sharp shape to their head. These pikes also have pronounced and sharp teeth. They are aggressive when they are landed or when the take the bait. Even though they nibble a bit at bait during the winter they are usually aggressive feeders all year round. Pikes are from 2 to 6 feet underneath the ice surface and they follow smaller fish round the lake. Ice fishing in Lake Simcoe is very interesting as these fishes are mobile and lone hunters. So the lake size make sit ideal for moving with these fishes without disturbing the others.
Wall eye- strategy Ice fishing for walleye includes the jigging areas beyond ridges and weeds of vegetation. They are generally found feeding just after dawn and right before dark during the periods of dusk. The walleye usually bite actively at plastic worms and minnows with a lot of action.
Lake trout – The lake trout move throughout the lake for quite a lot over the season. During the beginning of winter the trout tends to feed at 50 to 90 foot depths while the lake moves even deeper into the year and followed by moving into shallow water much closer to thaw spring. Water lake trout feed in the brightest part of the days and this trout in a more shallow area of the lake would feed during the time right before dusk and right after dawn.
White fish – White fish is located in Lake Simcoe by the way of chumming, which most of the people practice in ice fishing season. Chumming includes chopped rice or meat into the water, dropping minnows to keep the fish in an area for two or three days prior to deciding the area to fish. These white fish stay in groups so a hit usually means that there are a lot of fishes in that area. Once they come to know about the bait that heads down to the deep water, white fish which is larger and even more aggressive would swim up to the surface closer incase they feed actively. Scented plastics or chopped minnows (salted) make good lures in feeding whitefish.
Ice fishing in Lake Simcoe has different fishing bait shops, rentals for stay and several tournaments which a fisher would expect when he/she comes for an ice fishing vacation.

Modifications To Snowmobiles?
I have a 2000 Polaris 500 XC SP. Basically you could say I want to soupe it up so I can keep up with the 600's. It does about 95ish. Last year I put plastic skiis on it n it made it a bit lighter. Notice it was easier to skip water. I have been told to get a can on it, but with this increase performance? or just make it sound "cool" Also, was told to get an exhaust package...does this come with the pipe and can together?....also told to get a clutch kit...mess with the ratio...but i dont just want to increase acceleration n decrease top speed..or vise versa increase top speed but decrease acceleration...........is boring it out worth it? this decrease gas milliage by a lot? will my engine be able to withstand that compressoion?........anything i can do to it to make it lighter?...i would love to make the thing lighter.......I picked up for cheap only a grand...no scratches or cracks..brand new track thumb warmers all ready to go...so i dont mind throwing in 500 or more in parts.....
A pipe and can, gut out the air box (or remove it and run pod filters), install an elevation specific clutch kit then jet the carbs accordingly and that should help a bunch. However if you purchase these parts new it will be closer to $1000 rather than 500. SLP makes lots of hot rod parts for polaris, and they somtimes have take-offs (pipes, silencers, clutch helix) that were used for testing that they sell for less. V-force reed valves (around $250) also help the crispness of the throttle. I have a 2004 RMK 700 with only these mods, no internal engine mods, that runs very well. This machine has 140hp stock and with the SLP kits installed is estimated at 165hp. It will run up to 110mph on the flats and will climb just about any hill I point it at in good powder. Fine tuning the clutches and jetting are critical to get the best performance.
Hope this helps
