Army helmet - Middle Eastern red crescent? Can you identify?

I've posted this question once before with some good responses but everybody had a different idea. This was given to me along with a cookbook dated 1957. They aren't necessarily related but might give a little perspective.

The red crescent makes me believe it has to be Turkish. But could also be Pakistan or Uzbekistan.

I doubt it has any connection with the Islamic Red Crescent society (same as the Red Cross)

Red Cross bicycle safety tips
The Sussex County Chapter of the American Red Cross reminds community members to stay safe while biking. Health and Safety Director, Melissa Turner said, “Many bicycle injuries can be prevented by wearing a correctly-fitting helmet while riding. Even children using tricycles or bikes with training wheels should wear protective headgear.”
