Here are some more information for Warning Sticker:

In recalling the cigarette puffing character, Joe Camel, many thoughts come to mind. He is the smooth looking cartoon figure with the pretty chick or classic car every guy imagines is his. Tobacco product manufacturer R.J. Reynolds Company stuck Joe Camel in billboard, print and television ads enticing a generation of consumers to buy its brand. After reviewing the ad from a psychological perspective I discovered it to be successful in achieving the company's goal to target young tobacco consumers, create a loveable character to distract smokers from the hazardous and fatal effects of smoking tobacco and becoming a commercially successful phenomenon which made the tobacco industry a ton of money and ruined lives in the process.
First, the ad campaign uses Joe Camel as a sort of guy a young tobacco consumer would envy at first glance. He is the ultimate smooth character with his many adventures like flying a plane, driving a hot sports car or chilling on the beach with nothing to do but bask in the warm sun, leisure and relaxation. He's usually featured in ads with a harem of beautiful, scantily clad women. I would want to be in his shoes without giving it a second thought.
The ad was successful because that's exactly the way the targeted audience responded to the Joe Camel ads, without giving it a second thought. Overtly, I think the company played on the mentality of a naïve, curious and insecure brand of consumer when the campaign was launched who didn't have a developed enough brain to think something all the way through. The R.J. Reynolds Company which manufactures Camels cigarettes succeeded in finding a group of individuals who were convinced that if they smoked Camels cigarettes it would somehow make them sexually appealing and attractive to the opposite sex.
The ad allowed them to escape the boring routine of their daily academic or industrial lives and enter the exciting and maverick life of Joe Camel. Secondly, psychologically the ad's deeper subliminal message is even more disturbing. I think it played on the natural tendency of young men to act and think later. A cigarette smoker like Joe Camel in his dark shades, with his masculine build and devil-may-care attitude influenced them to look at society, and more importantly with little regards for the future and the eventual consequences of smoking cigarettes in an insignificant and irresponsible manner. It is at this point, in my opinion, that the ad ceases to be creative and just another brilliantly successful ad campaign and it becomes deceptive and dangerous. I believe this ad was both subliminally seductive and overtly suggestive because on the cigarette's packaging there in fine print is a serious warning from the U. S. Surgeon General about the hazards of smoking cigarettes such as it causes lung cancer and can endanger the lives of unborn fetuses in pregnant women.
The Joe Camel character is humorous and downplays this stark reality so much that it is almost non-existent as a threat to the public's health. A camel cigarette, I am guessing, was consumed by teens and adolescents more than any other sector of the general public. I make this assumption based on the fact that Joe Camel is the type of character only a certain type of consumer can relate to. For instance, psychologically mature consumers know that camels are animals and animals don't smoke cigarettes. A naïve and care-free individual such as a teen or adolescent probably looked right past that truth and thought, "This is one cool dude, maybe if I smoke camels like Joe I will be one smooth character too."
When I was between the ages of ten and fifteen I lived in a fantasy and adventurous world within my psychological makeup. I dreamed daily while in class or at home doing household chores that I was someplace mystical like a far-away island or on an espionage mission. I also had a lot of insecurities about my masculinity and l identity which would have made me vulnerable and gullible to identify with Joe Camel and eventually take to smoking that brand of cigarettes hoping for the trade off, becoming a macho sex symbol who lived the glamorous life.
Maybe now, one can see why such an ad like the Joe Camel character would become a commercially successful phenomenon and wreak so much damage in the process. This says a lot about the society's values in that era when Joe Camel was created. Perhaps many young men were aspiring to become like Humphrey Bogart, cigarette puffing gangsters instead of doctors and lawyers in an age when being tough was fashionable. Did it ever dawn on the consumer of that age who bought into the ad campaign that being careless with regards to one's health was not so fashionable.
Making Your Stickers Noticeable
When you print labels, you mean them to be noticed. Labels or stickers of course need to be read and understood, but your audience should of course know where they are first. There are many ways to capture people’s attention when it comes to sticker printing. You need to be innovative in your sticker printing designs when figuring those ways out, but generally it is about the look and feel of your sticker.
Optimizing your colors
The color is one of the important decisions for any label printing design. The sticker’s color should really be eye-catching, and it has to contrast with its environment so that it can be easily spotted. Usually the colors red, orange and yellow are the most noticeable and most people print labels in those colors especially if the label message is an important warning or notice.
On the other hand, stickers that are used as product labels and classification devices can come at every color of the rainbow that you want. The important thing about using color on them is that it should be different from anything else. For example, for product labels, it is best to use a color that is not related t o your rival product color. If they are mainly red, then go for blues or greens. This makes sure that your labels and the products attached to them are distinct from anyone else.
Rationalizing font styles
The font of your sticker is also an important part if you want to get noticed. People make the wrong assumption here that the most creative fonts usually win stand out contests. However, the most effective and easily understood labels are the ones that are simple and direct to the point. Since labels are stickers are meant to be read quickly, it must also be understood quickly. So try and use simple fonts that are thick or big. The word for text printing is that bigger and more prominent fonts are the most effective since they will catch the information better and faster.
Proper use of Images
Images are also a big factor to make stickers stand out. This is especially true for larger full color sticker labels. You have to choose and image that best represents the message of your sticker. For example, if your message is a warning about a live electrical wiring, then you need to add an electricity symbol, or a cartoon of a person getting shocked, just so that you can reinforce your message. For product sticker labels the best images to use are the company’s logo or the symbol of the product’s main theme. The text and image of a sticker must work together so that they can really stand out as a whole.
Account for the label size
Lastly, a label’s size can be adjusted to capture attention. Especially for important labels, printing stickers in large sizes is the best so that people can really notice what the label is all about. Of course match your label size with your message. Print only as big as needed so that you don’t waste money in printing bigger. Just go for the sticker design that can fit your messages and images snugly, and is big enough to be read and appreciated.
Good! The next time you invest in sticker printing, remember these four main facts, and you should be producing stickers or labels with the best possible chance of getting noticed.
